Defense wins championships, and great defenders win awards.

Last year, a defensive back won NFL Defensive Player of the Year for the second time in 14 years — Denver's Pat Surtain II.

2025-26 NFL Defensive Player of the Year 

Myles Garrett, DE, Browns: +160 

What to know: Despite Cleveland's dismal 2-7 record, Garrett has climbed up this board. He's the new favorite after his odds shifted to +160 from +250 over the last week. Garrett didn't have a sack from Weeks 4 through 6 and dropped to +700. Then, in Week 8, he had a franchise-record five sacks against the Pats. In Week 10, Garrett had one sack and three total tackles.

Micah Parsons, LB/DE, Packers: +275

What to know: In the Packers' Week 10 loss to the Eagles, Parsons only had two total tackles and no sacks. His odds dropped to +275 from +165, moving him to second from first.

Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Lions: +500

What to know: Over the summer, Hutchinson opened as the favorite to be named DPOY, and now he's third on this list. On the year, he has four forced fumbles and seven sacks.

Nik Bonitto, DE, Broncos: +600

What to know: Bonitto has 9.5 sacks on the season and 17 QB hits. Denver has won seven games in a row and has the second-best defense in the NFL.

Will Anderson Jr., DE, Texans: +1000

What to know: In a Week 9 loss to Denver, Anderson had a sack, a tackle for loss and two QB hits. He followed that up in Week 10 with one sack and two total tackles. Houston has the No. 1 defense in the NFL.

Jared Verse, DE, Rams: +2000 

What to know: Verse was Defensive Rookie of the Year last season, but in a Week 10 win over San Francisco, he didn't record any sacks and his odds fell to +2000 from +1600.
